IP Video Security
IP Camera Systems - Megagapixel Cameras - Network Servers
IP Video Camera Contractor serving Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland
IP Video brings a host of new possibilities to the table. It is important however to keep in mind that an IP video system also requires a properly designed and configured network. IP video has high bandwidth demands, and requires your network to have sufficient bandwidth capabilities, and the ability to segment and priorotize traffic. KIT Communications also offers design and installation services for network infrastructure, and can help make sure your network is prepared for IP video and more.
In addition to all of the features a traditional CCTV system offers, here are some of the benefits that IP Video brings to the table:
IP video security camera systems offer all of the benefits and features that a
digital CCTV video security systems do, and open up some exciting new possibilities.
IP Megapixel Cameras
IP cameras are available at much higher resolution than traditional cameras. Anyone who owns a CCTV system understands the tradeoff that must be made between area of coverage, and quality of the image. But now with high resolutoin IP cameras, you can have both. To put things in perspective, high resultion analog camera delivers a resolution somewhere around 768 x 494. A 5 megapixel IP camera on the other hand, delivers 2592 x 1944.

Convergence
The communications industry is moving toward a converged systems model where all communiation devices use the same network infracture for communications, and many for power as well. This centralized model brings multiple financial, logistical, and opperational benefits.
Motion Detection
Motion detection allows your CCTV system to record video only when motion is detected. This not only saves a tremendous amount of video storage space, but it also gives authorized users a log of when motion occured which can make finding critical video much easier.
Cash Register POS Feeds
For our retail clients, we install systems that can interface with cash registers. For each camera recording the activities of a cashier, the text feed from that register can be printed directly onto the video feed.
180/360 Degree Cameras
The higher resolution offered by IP cameras has brought forward some intersting new camera ideas. For example, the 180 degree and 360 degree camers. These cameras deploy multiple internal megapixel cameras to offer a 180 degree continuous field of view in high resolution. This type of camera is a great replacement for the PTZ wihch needed to be monitored by an operator to be efective. The 180 degree IP camera on the other hand, records EVERYTHING in its field of view (not just what the operator points at), so users can go back to recorded video and zoom in as desired. This is a tremdouls asset for unattended systems.
Virtual Cameras
Another way to look at a 5 megapixel camera, is as 16 high resolution analog cameras, laid out in a 4x4 grid and tied together as one image. As such, another feature popular on many NVRs is the ability to define virtual camera views, where a user can chose a portion of the camera's view, zoom in, and define that as a virtual camera. This view can then be posted on monitors, and quickly referenced when viewing recorded video. This feature helps to make the amazing resolution offered by megapixel cameras, more mannagable. What's more is that these virtual cameras can be re-defined at any time, even after video is recorded. So, if you're reviewing video of a break-in, you can define a closeup view of the doorway and watch that in tandum with the other views, even if no virtual view of the doorway was defined previously.
Pan/Tilt/Zoom Cameras (PTZ)
PTZ cameras bring even more power to remote access, giving users the ability to move the camera angle and zoom in as much 36 times to view events as far as 1000 feet away, or zoom in to read a license plate or identify an individual. Advanced analitics can be combined with PTZ cameras so that they follow individuals automatically.
